The reservation distribution includes UR, SC, ST and EWS vacancies, with specified horizontal reservations for PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates.

Technician (Fitter):

• 10th/SSC with Science subjects and minimum 55% marks, and ITI/Trade Certificate in Fitter; OR

• Prescribed apprenticeship experience; OR

• 3 years relevant experience in the specified Government/PSU/autonomous organization.

Similar trade-specific qualifications apply to Plumber, Electrician, Computer/IT Assistant, Digital Photographer, Laboratory Assistant, Medical Laboratory Technician, Physiotherapy Technician and Catering & Hospitality Assistant posts.
Candidates should check the detailed notification for the exact qualification applicable to the trade they wish to apply for.

The minimum age required is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 28 years as on the last date of submission of the online application.
Age Relaxation
Age relaxation is available to eligible candidates as per Government of India/CSIR rules. Major relaxations include:

• SC/ST: 5 years

• OBC (NCL): 3 years

• PwBD (UR/EWS): 10 years

• PwBD (OBC): 13 years

• PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years

• Other categories: As per applicable Government rules.

For SC/ST/OBC candidates, category-based age relaxation applies according to the reservation provisions specified in the notification.

The application fee for eligible candidates is:

• General/OBC/EWS: ₹500/-
• SC/ST: No Fee
• PwBD: No Fee
• Women: No Fee
• Ex-Servicemen: No Fee

The ₹500 application fee is payable online through SBI Collect. Candidates claiming fee exemption must upload the relevant supporting documents.

Selected candidates will be appointed at Pay Level-2 with a pay scale of:
₹19,900 – ₹63,200/-
The official notification mentions approximate gross monthly emoluments of ₹39,970/- on the minimum pay of the pay level, including HRA for a Class 'X' city. Other admissible Central Government/CSIR allowances and benefits are also applicable as per rules.

The selection process for Technician posts consists of:

1. Screening/Shortlisting
2. Trade Test
3. Competitive Written Examination
4. Final Merit List

Candidates shortlisted by the Screening Committee will first be invited for the Trade Test. Candidates who qualify in the Trade Test will be eligible to participate in the Competitive Written Examination.
The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance in the relevant written examination papers.

The Competitive Written Examination will be conducted in OMR-based or Computer-Based Objective Type Multiple Choice format.

• Total Questions: 150

• Total Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes

• Standard: SSC + ITI / XII Standard

• Medium: English and Hindi, except English Language questions
